For hundreds of years God promised the Israelites victory and success over their enemies. The philistines, seemed to be unconquerable until David chose by faith to finish the job. God has called us to Finish the Job and stop surviving what God has called us to conquer. The key lies in our past and present to be able to complete the task in the future.

You can be anointed, have faith, and have the right motivation and still lose the battle. We see David's approach being the difference maker in victory and defeat. David knew who he was and what he was gifted to do and he fought on God's terms, not on the enemy's so that the whole would know that God is the real victor.

David fought various battles before the big battle with Goliath. One of those was based on his identity and the pressure to be something that he wasn't. We learn how to avoid the imitation and comparison trap and wear the armor that God has gifted us with.

The constant companion of destiny is doubt and distraction. Before David could face the giant, he had to face much opposition from those who weren't in the fight. We will look at the 3 attacks from the enemy that we will all face when we choose to live out God's call on our lives.

David approached the battle with Goliath through a heart of faith and not fear. He measured the giant through the size of hls God and not God through the size of the giant.  He realized this enemy in front of him was not an obstacle but an opportunity to fulfill the destiny God had on his life. The challenges of life are not meant to destroy us but to reveal God's power through our lives.
